Our dogs are part of our families. We are responsible for caring for them. This means they need a place to run and play and just enjoy some sunshine and exercise. There are 5 off-leash dog-parks in Fresno. We will give you the lowdown on each. We are sure you will find one that suits your furry friend’s needs.

This should go without saying, but unfortunately, we must say it. It is your responsibility to clean up after your dog. A lot of people and dogs use these parks. Please clean up after your dog and abide by the rules. There are very few of them.

Todd Beamer Dog Park

Todd Beamer Dog Park is located at Maple and Plymouth. It is not a large park, but small and medium size dogs seem to enjoy it very much. There are waste receptacles, and water fountains are provided for dogs and their owners. You are welcome to bring your dog’s toys, and you can remove your dog’s leash if he or she is well behaved. The park opens at 6 am and closes at 10 pm daily.

Woodward Park Dog Park

This is probably the most popular of all the dog parks in the city of Fresno. It is a full acre of grassy areas, ponds, and benches in the shade for people. There is an area for small dogs, and it is separated from the area for big dogs. There is a fee to enter the park of $5.00 per vehicle.

Dogs are allowed to be off their leashes if they are well behaved, and the dog owner is responsible for the cleanup of their animal.

This park is located in the northeast corner of the Woodward Park (for people), and it opens at 6 am and closes at 10 pm.

Basin AH1 Dog Park

You will find this dog park at West Alamos where El Capitan crosses. The park is open in May and goes through November. The hours are 7 am to 10 pm. Your dog will love this park in the summer because there is a great wading pool for your pooch to cool off in.

Roeding Park Dog Park

Roeding Park Dog Park is open from 6 am to 10 pm daily. It is a full acre and there are different areas for large and small dogs. Leashes are not required unless the dog lacks control. A park entrance fee of $5.00 per vehicle applies to anyone entering Roeding Park.

Victoria-West Dog Park

This is a section of land that has wide open spaces for dogs to run and play. It is part of the Victoria-West Park at 3861 W. Clinton. Hours are 6 am to 10 pm. Dogs can be off-leash but owners must control them. Please clean up after your pet.

The fee of $5.00 per vehicle applies to all vehicles. However, some of the parks will allow people and their dogs entry at no charge if they are not arriving in a vehicle. The cleanup rule applies to all pet owners or handlers, and open receptacles are provided. While you can bring your dog’s toys, bringing food into the dog parks is not allowed.
