The fields of science, mathematics, and technology will clearly guide the world into its next generation. However, when it comes to science, students in the United States trail far behind other countries.
That is why having communities that are active and aggressive in teaching our children science is so important. We will share with you some of the science activities that Fresno offers, and we encourage you to take full advantage of them.
The Fresno Discovery Center
The Fresno Discovery Center is a hands-on park and museum. It is designed to draw the interest of both children and adults in learning about our world. There are exhibits and interactive exhibits that teach children science. The museum also teaches nature and history, and how all these things miraculously create the very world we live in today.
Learn about dinosaurs, space, geology, and even live animals. This is a guaranteed hit for the kids, and mom and dad might learn a few new things too.

Center Aquatic Science at Adventure Aquarium
Our educators engage students in active learning programs. They may choose single or multi-session workshops that are designed for their grade-level and skill set.
Our professionals identify target areas where the student is weak and helps him or her build that level. They will be taught very specific content and problem-solving with practical classroom strategies. The program also cross-trains the students in other curricular connections.
You cannot speak of Fresno and science and not mention the wonderful University of California Planetarium. Weekend shows are shown that entertain and expand the mind. The Planetarium has 74 seats, and the room has a 30-foot dome. The Minolta MS-10 shows the shows on 100% of the dome. It is an experience you will want to see again and again.
The Planetarium has a wonderful museum that features hands-on astronomy and physics, and they have a gift shop. This is one visit your children will remember for the rest of their lives and who knows, it may even plant a seed in them for a love of science.
